Two are near the downtown area, the Georgia-Pacific mine, and the Alabastine Gypsum Mine. The GP mine comes really close to some of the bike trails immediately north-west of I-196. The Alabastine Gypsum Mine appears to be owned by Michigan Natural Storage, and is accessible roughly in the area of Market St by the wastewater treatment plant.
